{"id":576,"date":"2015-08-28T01:06:12","date_gmt":"2015-08-27T15:06:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.griffithasiainsights.com.au\/?p=576"},"modified":"2016-04-14T16:01:00","modified_gmt":"2016-04-14T06:01:00","slug":"576-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/testblogs.griffith.edu.au\/asiainsights\/576-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Zebedee heads to Osaka historic laneways"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Associate Professor Leigh Shutter from the Griffith School of Environment was awarded an Australia-Japan Foundation Grant last month.<\/p>\n<p>This grant will support for in-depth research and record technology of the historic laneways in Osaka project that is collaborating with the Osaka Institute of Technology.<\/p>\n<p>Associate Professor Leigh Shutter had recently completed the associated project of urban morphology and heritage study of Enning Road in Guangzhou, China in February this year.<\/p>\n<p>This project has been helpful for building a cross-cultural educational platform forming the basis for an urban morphology and heritage study.<\/p>\n<p>From the previous project, it had introduced new 3D laser mapping technologies developed by Australia to Australian and Chinese architectural students, and its 3D scanner outputted a realistic 3D virtual model of the streets and their architecture.<\/p>\n<p>Founded on the recent Guangzhou project, Professor Shutter said this upcoming Osaka project will support a continuous historical research on studying cultural heritage as the previous project did show the outcome.<\/p>\n<p><em>Story by\u00a0Diane Dain Jeong.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Associate Professor Leigh Shutter from the Griffith School of Environment was awarded an Australia-Japan Foundation Grant last month.
