This year\u2019s framework declaration echoes concern already expressed at the 2017 G20 meeting in Germany, and further focuses both government and public attention on the growing threat marine plastic waste poses not only to the marine environment but also to human food security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But despite the G20\u2019s latest declaration of its commitment to reduce marine plastic waste, there is still little reason to believe anything substantial will be done. There are already several international agreements in place to reduce marine plastic waste; the problem, however, is&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/intlaw.no\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/The-case-for-a-TMPP-Nov-2018-WEB.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">they are not having much effect<\/a>.
