Tensions are rising. After all, it\u2019s not every day that a South Korean jet fighter fires&nbsp;across the bow of a Russian spy plane.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tuesday\u2019s first big event was the inaugural China-Russia joint air patrol between large, long-range, nuclear cruise missile capable bombers. The People\u2019s Liberation Army Air Force sent two H-6Ks from the Nanjing Military Region. The Russian Aerospace Space Force sent two&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.airforce-technology.com\/projects\/tu-95ms-strategic-bomber\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Tu-95MS<\/a>&nbsp;from the Ukrainka airbase in Russia\u2019s east, the same base\u2019s aircraft&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rt.com\/news\/412367-russian-strategic-bombers-indonesia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">deployed to Indonesia&nbsp;<\/a>in 2017.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The bombers rendezvoused&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/redstar.ru\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/10-24-07-19.jpg\" target=\"_blank\">north of the disputed<\/a>&nbsp;Liancourt Rocks (Dokdo in Korea, Takeshima in Japan) in the Sea of Japan and formed a&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.combataircraft.com\/en\/Formations\/Box\/\" target=\"_blank\">box formation<\/a>, flying some 3\u20134 kilometres apart.&nbsp;The formation&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mod.go.jp\/js\/Press\/press2019\/press_pdf\/p20190723_01.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">then flew southwest<\/a>&nbsp;at an altitude of about 26,000ft (8000 metres), passing between Japan and South Korea.
