The country has been particularly innovative in its use of airpower, emulated by many, now including Iran. The uncertain origin and ambiguous meaning of the attacks on Saudi oil facilities by Iranian-made drones and cruise missiles is a play straight out of what has been described as Israel\u2019s ongoing \u201cwar between the wars\u201d campaign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Israel has pioneered the use of undeclared air raids. In 2007, a suspected Syrian nuclear installation was destroyed, but no one claimed responsibility at the time. The tactic was then used&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/Middle-East\/Mystery-strike-on-car-kills-two-in-Port-Sudan\" target=\"_blank\">episodically in Sudan<\/a>: in 2009 in attacks on a truck convoy and later a ship in Port Sudan;&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/world\/2012\/oct\/25\/israeli-sudanese-factory-secret-war\" target=\"_blank\">in a 2012 strike&nbsp;<\/a>on a suspected munitions factory in Khartoum; and in&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.timesofisrael.com\/witnesses-claim-israeli-jets-strike-sudanese-city-report\/\" target=\"_blank\">2014 in an attack<\/a>&nbsp;on a military installation near Omdurman.
