At the Raisina Dialogue in New Delhi in January, Australian Minister of Foreign Affairs Marise Payne\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/m.facebook.com\/172482702880504\/posts\/2532193153576102\/?d=n\" target=\"_blank\">said<\/a>, \u201cWe can make more progress on global security and prosperity by ensuring the inclusion of women and girls in decision-making.\u201d Australia\u2019s foreign policy and development outreach has been steadily devoted to\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/dfat.gov.au\/aid\/topics\/investment-priorities\/gender-equality-empowering-women-girls\/gender-equality\/Pages\/gender-initiatives.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">gender equality and women\u2019s empowerment<\/a>, because they are the best frontline defence against violence and instability.
