However, access to services and supports for survivors of sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) is becoming more&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.unwomen.org\/sites\/default\/files\/Headquarters\/Attachments\/Sections\/Library\/Publications\/2020\/Brief-COVID-19-and-essential-services-provision-for-survivors-of-violence-against-women-and-girls-en.pdf\">constrained<\/a>&nbsp;in a growing number of situations across the world. Recent coups and ongoing conflicts,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/reliefweb.int\/report\/thailand\/asia-and-pacific-weekly-regional-humanitarian-snapshot-12-18-october-2021\">high<\/a>&nbsp;levels of displacement, political oppression\u2014including&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/dx.doi.org\/10.1136\/bmjgh-2021-006564\">internet disruption<\/a>&nbsp;and other tactics of regime control\u2014and the destruction of&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hrw.org\/news\/2021\/09\/03\/afghanistan-humanitarian-crisis-needs-urgent-response\">state institutions<\/a>, combined with restrictions on movement and the interruption of services due to COVID-19, are taking a toll on the ability of local communities and civil society organizations to respond to SGBV.
