{"id":9221,"date":"2022-06-30T08:30:00","date_gmt":"2022-06-29T22:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/testblogs.griffith.edu.au\/asiainsights\/?p=9221"},"modified":"2023-08-08T19:01:47","modified_gmt":"2023-08-08T09:01:47","slug":"creating-womens-entrepreneurial-resilience-by-building-forward-better","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/testblogs.griffith.edu.au\/asiainsights\/creating-womens-entrepreneurial-resilience-by-building-forward-better\/","title":{"rendered":"Creating women\u2019s entrepreneurial resilience by building forward better"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">ANNE SIMMONS-BENTON AND <a href=\"https:\/\/testblogs.griffith.edu.au\/asiainsights\/tag\/caitlin-byrne\/\">CAITLIN BYRNE<\/a>\u00a0 |\u00a0  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A stark reality to emerge from the devastation of COVID-19 has been the global decline in women\u2019s economic inclusion and entrepreneurial opportunity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Women-owned firms failed during the pandemic at higher rates due to the lack of equitable financial and governmental support and uneven support for care, even though these firms were in vital areas of the economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 2021&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.weforum.org\/reports\/global-gender-gap-report-2021\/digest\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">World Economic Forum\u2019s 14th&nbsp;global Gender Gap Report<\/a>&nbsp;forecasts that it will now take&nbsp;135.6&nbsp;years for women to achieve gender parity\u2014instead of the 99 years that it had projected in 2019, the year before the pandemic struck.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Women\u2019s entrepreneurship is under greater pressure in both developed and developing countries.
