Growing rivalry between the United States and China will make global consensus harder to achieve, while Russia\u2019s invasion of Ukraine casts a long shadow over the talks. It\u2019s not all bad news, however. Even as East-West competition hampers unified climate action, it is also accelerating the global shift to clean energy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The US and China are key to tackling the global climate crisis. They are the world\u2019s largest economies and biggest polluters. Together, they represent 38 percent of global greenhouse gas emissions.
