{"id":3273,"date":"2025-12-18T12:43:24","date_gmt":"2025-12-18T02:43:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/testblogs.griffith.edu.au\/gci-insights\/?p=3273"},"modified":"2025-12-18T12:43:26","modified_gmt":"2025-12-18T02:43:26","slug":"event-highlights-new-tools-and-insights-for-using-digital-methods-to-understand-crime","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/testblogs.griffith.edu.au\/gci-insights\/2025\/12\/18\/event-highlights-new-tools-and-insights-for-using-digital-methods-to-understand-crime\/","title":{"rendered":"Event highlights new tools and insights for using digital methods to understand crime"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>From analysing online drug markets to mapping surveillance &#8211; Griffith Criminology Institute\u2019s (GCI) \u2018Digital Methods for Researching Crime and Harm\u2019 event, held earlier this month, highlighted the evolving role of digital methods in research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Organisers, GCI\u2019s Dr Andrew Childs and Dr Ausma Bernot, guided participants through discussions emphasising the methodological innovation and collaborative spirit driving contemporary digital crime research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOur goal was to build an event that cut across disciplinary boundaries to show that digital methods aren\u2019t owned by any one field, instead, they\u2019re a shared toolkit that lets us see crime and harm in new ways.
