So\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.who.int\/campaigns\/world-mental-health-day\/world-mental-health-day-2020\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">Wor<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">l<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">d Mental Health Day<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, 10 October, i<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">s an ideal time to remember the importance of looking after yourself, asking the question R U OK? and seeking help from family and friends<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0health professional<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">s<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0or even the community<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;134233117&quot;:true,&quot;134233118&quot;:true,&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:120,&quot;335559740&quot;:240}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The World Health Organization (WHO) has provided this valuable list of\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.who.int\/campaigns\/connecting-the-world-to-combat-coronavirus\/healthyathome\/healthyathome---mental-health\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">tips and advice<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0to help with looking after our mental health.<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0One<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">useful tip\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">is to make time for doing things we enjoy<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, such as listening to music. <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/experts.griffith.edu.au\/18566-brydieleigh-bartleet\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">Professor\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">Brydie<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">Bartleet<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, Director of the Queensland Conservatorium Research Centre and Deputy Director Research at the Conservatorium,\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">agrees<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">:\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;134233117&quot;:true,&quot;134233118&quot;:true,&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:120,&quot;335559740&quot;:240}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">There&#8217;s a lot of really interesting research that&#8217;s happening right now, and in the context of\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">COVID<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, of course, we&#8217;ve seen beautiful examples across the world of people using music to connect with one another. You might have seen the clips from balconies in Spain and Italy, with people singing out to one another when they&#8217;re locked in their units and unable to communicate with others in any other way. And I think those are really powerful ways of music not only expressing what people are feeling but forming that connection when there is so much anxiety and stress.
