Missing, messy or inconsistent data can easily\u00a0<\/span>undermine<\/span>\u00a0your analysis<\/span>, but by learning a few simple processes, you can cut down the time and effort you spend cleaning data and get to the exciting part<\/span>\u2014f<\/span>iguring out what your data is telling you.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

OpenRefine<\/span><\/a>\u00a0is a<\/span>\u00a0free,<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>open-source<\/span>\u00a0tool to explore, clean,\u00a0<\/span>organise<\/span>, combine and transform data. It<\/span>\u2019s<\/span>\u00a0particularly powerful when working with large datasets<\/span>\u00a0that tools like Excel can<\/span>‘<\/span>t manage<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Plus, it<\/span>\u00a0helps you\u00a0<\/span>\u2018<\/span>see<\/span>\u2019<\/span>\u00a0your data.\u00a0<\/span>You don\u2019t need to\u00a0<\/span>know how to\u00a0<\/span>code and no prio<\/span>r software knowledge<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>is<\/span>\u00a0required.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
