Being able to share information and be understood is crucial to forming relationships and engaging in education and employment. Because of this, people with communication disabilities face many barriers to participating equally in society.<\/span><span href=\"https:\/\/www.abs.gov.au\/ausstats\/abs@.nsf\/Previousproducts\/4430.0Main%20Features982015?opendocument&amp;tabname=Summary&amp;prodno=4430.0&amp;issue=2015&amp;num=&amp;view=\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">Australian Bureau of\u00a0Statistics<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">,\u00a0approximately 1.2 million Australians have some level of communication disability.\u00a0These\u00a0disabilities\u00a0are most often found in\u00a0children and older people.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:240,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">That\u2019s why the theme for\u00a0this year\u2019s\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.speechpathologyaustralia.org.au\/SPAweb\/whats_on\/Speech_Pathology_Week\/SPAweb\/What_s_On\/Speech_Pathology_Week\/Speech_Pathology_Week.aspx?hkey=bda669cc-f0ed-4c09-ba3f-58623572a886\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">Speech Pathology Week<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0(22\u00a0&#8211;\u00a028 August)\u00a0is:\u00a0<\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Communication is everyone&#8217;s right<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">.\u00a0Communication is a basic human right and\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Speech Pathology Week\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">seeks to make Australians aware of this.<\/span><span
