According to the\u00a0<\/span>International Association for Suicide Prevention<\/span><\/a>\u00a0(IASP), one in every 100 deaths\u00a0worldwide\u00a0is the result of suicide.\u00a0Those close\u00a0to someone\u00a0who has\u00a0taken their own life often struggle to understand\u00a0the reasons\u00a0and\u00a0wonder how they could have prevented such a devastating action.\u00a0Similarly,\u00a0our\u00a0society\u00a0struggles\u00a0with the\u00a0complex and\u00a0myriad\u00a0factors which\u00a0contribute to suicidal thoughts\u00a0and suicide attempts.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Commemorated\u00a0annually\u00a0on 10 September,\u00a0<\/span>World Suicide Prevention Day<\/span><\/a>\u00a0is an opportunity to\u00a0raise awareness\u00a0of the issues which contribute to suicide and\u00a0\u2018create hope through action\u2019\u00a0to reduce the number of suicides and suicide attempts globally.\u00a0The IASP encourages people to act by:\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
