This month the\u00a0Library\u00a0is proud to be\u00a0showcasing the creative talents of\u00a0a\u00a0selection of\u00a0Griffith Film School\u2019s 2018 Animation graduates.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

If you\u2019re visiting\u00a0<\/span>our\u00a0Libraries<\/span><\/a>\u00a0from 27 September to 22 October, keep\u00a0an eye out\u00a0for one of four short\u00a0films\u00a0playing on our digital screens:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A New Dress<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A one-minute animation about a young Baluchi girl who has put on a new outfit. She shows her happiness by dancing through colourful Baluchi patterns, which are presenting her Baluchi\u00a0needleworks\u00a0heritage.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Caught!<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

When a deep bond flourishes between two boys, a hairy secret and a devoted mother unknowingly stands between them.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Waves<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

On an island cliff, a lone girl\u2019s innate fear of the surrounding waves hinders her desire of exploring the lands beyond the horizon. She finds appeasement in collecting washed up parchments. When she just can\u2019t seem to catch one\u00a0particular parchment, she must risk it all.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Sprout<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Sprout is a short animation about a clumsy gardener, Lily, who is determined to transform her lacklustre garden into something worthy of winning the annual flower competition. While fumbling through her day to day and harming her garden more than improving it, Lily notices that one of her onions has sprouted into a sentient little being. The two form an unlikely friendship and partner up to revitalise the garden and bring it up to par. Will the duo be able to cultivate their\u00a0ambitions\u00a0or will their dreams\u00a0be\u00a0buried?<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Each of these\u00a0short films demonstrates\u00a0a\u00a0unique\u00a0approach to storytelling\u00a0through\u00a0their\u00a0distinct style of animation, exploring different cultures as well as themes of nature and friendship.
