Our Conservatorium<\/span> (the Con), Griffith\u2019s music and performing arts campus,<\/span> turned 65 this year<\/span>. It<\/span> was originally located in<\/span> the inner Brisbane suburb of<\/span> South Brisbane<\/span> before moving to the Queensland University of Technology\u2019s (QUT) Gardens Point campus in 1975. It <\/span>was a Queensland government owned institution until the federal government <\/span>began<\/span> tertiary institution amalgamations in the late 1980s. As a result, the Con officially became part of our university in 1991 and was relocated to its current South Bank location in September of 1996.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Con has consistently produced artists that have gone on to have successful national and international careers. Con graduates who you may be familiar with include <\/span>Katie Noonan<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>Dami Im<\/span><\/a> and <\/span>Kate Miller-Heidke<\/span><\/a>. Today, according to the <\/span>QS World University Rankings<\/span><\/a>, the Con is regularly ranked in the Top 50 globally as a performing arts institution.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
