After losing his native pepperberry orchard in the New South Wales Southern Tablelands during the 2019 bushfires, Mr Tim Wimborne turned to pasta-making. Dealing with the devastation of lost crops and infrastructure, Mr Wimborne kept pepperberry in his life, sourcing a local organic supplier to infuse his pasta with the spice. Tim\u2019s story offers us a lesson in Australian resilience as demand for his product remains high; he now supplies thirty retailers with this boutique product.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

But what about the future of Australia\u2014a nation that is prone to bushfires in a temperature-rising climate?<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Well, Tim, along with his wife Meraiah Foley, have thought about that too.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In the rebuilding of their farm, the married couple have made sure to plant non-flammable species around the orchard and are working with other landholders to make sure pepperberry crops are sustainably spread throughout the region.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
