Tuesday 2 May, 1 pm \u2013 3 pm <\/span><\/b>Literature search strategies for Systematic Quantitative Literature Reviews: how to find papers and where to look<\/span><\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Learn how to develop a robust, well-documented search strategy, which can locate all eligible material using an example review question. The session incorporates active learning components where the participants can apply and integrate the techniques discussed into their own search strategy.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Wednesday 3 May, 12:30 pm \u2013 2 pm <\/span><\/b>Research Survey Tool<\/span><\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Get up and running with the fundamentals of LimeSurvey. In this course, you\u2019ll learn to create surveys, format questions, create quotas and deactivate your surveys\u00a0 among other things.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Thursday 4 May, 10 am \u2013 12 noon <\/span><\/b>Systematic style reviews: Tips and tools for getting from start to finish<\/span><\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Learn about tips and tools that can simplify your systematic and systematic-style reviews from start to finish. We will discuss guidelines and protocols, research questions and search strategies, and screening and documenting your searches.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Thursday 4 May, 1 pm \u2013 3 pm <\/span><\/b>External Research Datasets<\/span><\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

An exploratory session for researchers on major virtual data labs and portals. Discover large, interdisciplinary datasets to support research.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Wednesday 10 May, 10 am \u2013 12 noon <\/span><\/b>Navigating the Publishing Maze for AEL & Business Early Career Researchers<\/span><\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Get advice from a senior academic on the academic publishing process. You\u2019ll learn about targeting journals, the role of editors and reviewers, the process of peer review, and some new publishing models.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Wednesday 10 May, 1 pm \u2013 2 pm <\/span><\/b>Formatting your Thesis – Q&A<\/span><\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Participants will be provided with a resource on using Microsoft Word\u2019s automated settings and features which will be invaluable when it comes to working with a long document. The online session gives participants the opportunity to ask questions and further their understanding of this important skillset.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Thursday 11 May, 10 am \u2013 11:30 am <\/span><\/b>Introduction to REDCap at Griffith<\/span><\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Learn the fundamentals of REDCap quickly so that you can start to use the tool. This session is for anyone looking to gather qualitative data from participants but will be most valuable for researchers considering clinical and longitudinal trials.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Thursday 11 May, 12:30 noon \u2013 2 pm <\/span><\/b>Managing your research literature<\/span><\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Explore practical strategies and tools researchers can use to identify and make sense of themes in research literature and manage and organise references and research material. This session is followed-up by the <\/span>Writing the Literature Review<\/span><\/a> workshop.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Tuesday 16 May, 10 am \u2013 12 noon <\/span><\/b>Advanced Data Wrangling with OpenRefine<\/span><\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Building on the introductory session; Data Cleaning with OpenRefine, learn advanced data wrangling skills including combining tabular datasets, geolocating data, and \u2018what if\u2019 exploration using OpenRefine.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Wednesday 17 May, 10 am \u2013 12 noon <\/span><\/b>Systematic style reviews in Health: Building a robust search strategy<\/span><\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Learn expert search techniques through demonstrations and discussions. The workshop will include topics like search concepts and synonyms, adjacency searching, subject headings (MeSH) and more.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Thursday 18 May, 9 am \u2013 11 am <\/span><\/b>Research metrics for promotion<\/span><\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Gain familiarity with tools you can use to source information for a promotion application. Library specialists will demonstrate how to locate and use <\/span>citation information to highlight aspects of your track record.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Wednesday 24 May, 6 pm \u2013 8 pm <\/span><\/b>Publishing during your PhD<\/span><\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Find out about the requirements and guidelines for publishing as part of your PhD degree. Get advice on publishing requirements, evaluating journals, and open access.<\/span>

Monday 29 May, 11 am \u2013 12 noon <\/span><\/b>Open access publishing without the fees<\/span><\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Learn about the benefits of <\/span>Read and Publish agreements<\/span><\/a>, which enable you to publish your journal article at no additional cost while increasing its reach and impact. Library staff will guide you through the Read and Publish agreements, including which publishers are included and what information to provide when submitting an article.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
