In the spirit of open access to information, <\/span>Griffith Library<\/span> in collaboration with authors and editors from across Australia and the <\/span>Council of Australian University Librarians (CAUL<\/span><\/a>), has published the open source text <\/span>Leading in Health and Social Care.<\/span><\/i><\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Leading in Health and Social Care<\/span><\/i> is a textbook on leadership concepts and best practices to strengthen health and social care services. Led by <\/span>Sheree Lloyd<\/span><\/a> , <\/span>Eleanor Milligan<\/span><\/a> and <\/span>Richard Olley<\/span><\/a>, the text includes chapters from experts across Australia. Chapters address evolving and innovative practices in leadership, ethics, leading people and human resource management, cultural safety for First Nations peoples, innovation, digital health, finance and resource management, systems thinking, change, evaluation and safety and quality.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As an openly licensed text, leaders, managers, students, policymakers and all readers interested in improving healthcare systems can access the book. Creating and publishing open-access educational resources lowers barriers to accessing information and education, including reducing costs for students. This text can be accessed, adapted and shared freely, under a <\/span>Creative Commons<\/span><\/a> Attribution Non-commercial license.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

By making <\/span>Leading in Health and Social Care<\/span><\/i> openly accessible, <\/span>Griffith Library,<\/span> along with its collaborators, is contributing to the democratisation of knowledge and reinforcing the idea that information should be readily available to all who seek it.\u00a0 This initiative is a significant step towards creating a more inclusive and equitable educational landscape in the field of health and social care.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
