{"id":17195,"date":"2024-05-28T09:00:54","date_gmt":"2024-05-27T23:00:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/testblogs.griffith.edu.au\/library\/?p=17195"},"modified":"2024-05-27T10:54:08","modified_gmt":"2024-05-27T00:54:08","slug":"culturally-respectful-library-webpage-released","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/testblogs.griffith.edu.au\/library\/2024\/05\/28\/culturally-respectful-library-webpage-released\/","title":{"rendered":"Culturally respectful library webpage released"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This National Reconciliation Week (NRW) 27 May to 3 June, the Library has released our new webpage <a href=\"https:\/\/www.griffith.edu.au\/library\/about\/culturally-respectful\">Culturally respectful library<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s NRW\u2019s theme of Now more than ever encourages us all to remain engaged and connected in the continued push for justice and the rights of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (ATSI) people. The Library supports this and the fundamental need to learn about our unique and shared histories, cultures, achievements and knowledges.<\/p>\n<p>The Library is committed to the spirit of reconciliation and truth-telling by ensuring our collections access and management, learning and teaching and research support services are inclusive and culturally respectful.<\/p>\n<p>The Library extends our commitment to reconciliation with tangible actions to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Identify<\/strong> and care for the ATSI traditional and cultural knowledges<\/li>\n<li><strong>Engage<\/strong> in meaningful two-way relationships with individuals and communities with a <strong><em>Right of reply<\/em><\/strong> and<\/li>\n<li><strong>Respect<\/strong> through improved discoverability of resources through proactive collection practices and an embedded Indigenous voice.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You can visit the webpage for more information about the Library\u2019s commitment and access the Right of reply form which enables the ATSI communities to provide alternative versions of knowledge held in our collections and archives.<\/p>\n<p>To find out more about the resources and support available <a href=\"https:\/\/www.griffith.edu.au\/library\/contact\">contact the Library<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Now more than ever we need reconciliation.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-16880\" src=\"https:\/\/testblogs.griffith.edu.au\/library\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/36\/2024\/04\/The-Library-here-to-help-logo-_-Transparent-300x300.png\" alt=\"red circle.
