A recent addition is <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/griffith.figshare.com\/articles\/event\/Seasonal\/25590696\"><i><span data-contrast=\"none\">Seasonal,<\/span><\/i><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> an exhibition curated by <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/experts.griffith.edu.au\/8644-kaya-barry\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">Dr Kaya Barry.<\/span><\/a> <span data-contrast=\"auto\">It tells the stories of the everyday lives of seasonal farm workers through their own photography.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:279}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><em><span style=\"font-size: x-large\">&#8216;Little is known about the contemporary migrant farm worker experience in Australia. Their voices are often left out of policy and public debates on the futures of immigration programs and the agricultural industry, yet they are the backbone of many rural and regional places&#8217;.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The exhibition enabled seasonal workers to express themselves creatively while documenting their everyday lives. It also gave locals the opportunity to better know the workers who live temporarily in their communities.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:279}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.abc.net.au\/news\/rural\/programs\/landline\/2024-06-23\/a-different-perspective:-seasonal-workers-from\/104012676\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">ABC\u2019s Landline<\/span><\/a> <span data-contrast=\"auto\">aired a segment on <\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Seasonal<\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> in June 2024. It featured the impact of Dr Barry\u2019s research on one worker, Nunes Da Costa Barreto, from Timor-Leste, who was inspired to buy his own camera and become a professional photographer.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:279}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The Creative Works repository showcases the unique contributions of Griffith\u2019s creative researchers.
